Why is the idea of "Pay it forward" important?
Has your act of kindness made a difference?
The idea of Pay It Forward was to make us help other people and make a difference and if we like it we will do it in the future. I think our act of kindness made a difference because we gave my grandmother a break of taking care of her foster kids and we also donated extra clothes to the less fortunate and donating food helped the "Winnipeg Harvest" a little bit, so we hopefully made a difference in some people's life.

Sompong's Pay It Forward
Part 1
What is "Pay it Forward". To complete this part please edit and revise the paragraphs that you wrote after watching the movie. Pay it Forward is when one person does something to make a difference to an other person or more. Then, the other person that they helped will help other people and try to change there lives and it keeps expanding.
Part 2
First of all, I was doing this project with 3 other classmates, Paige, Liyanah, and Charisse. Our act of kindness was helping the children in the Children's Hospital and donating money to the Children's Wish Foundation. We chose this activity because we liked to make kids happy and showing them that even though we are just kids, we can make a difference to kids in poverty and kids in the hospital. We also chose to bake cookies and use the money to donate to the Children's Wish Foundation because we wanted to help making the kids wishes come true and make a difference in their lives. We helped children who are sick in the hospital and we helped kids in poverty. We baked 10 dozen batches of cookies in 6 or more hours and we ended up with 34 bags with 3 cookies in each. We sold all those cookies at a Filipino basketball league at Gordon Bell. Each bag cost a dollar and we sold all of them and we used all the money that we earned and donated it at the Children's Wish Foundation. Our 2nd act of kindness was we went to Dollarama and bought little toys to make goody bags and spent over 80 dollars all together. We donated all the goody bags to the Children's Hospital and we made 30 children in the hospital happy. We did both of our act of kindnesses on Friday (when we baked the cookies), Saturday (when we donated all the goody bags), and on Sunday (when we sold all the cookies). We felt very inspiring to many children that we helped. We hope that we sent the message to all the people that we sold the cookies to and the children that we helped in the hospital.
Part 3
Our act of kindness was pretty successful! Our cookies was sold successfully, our goody bags were donated successfully, and the money we donated was successful. We felt that we did pretty good and inspiring, because we helped at least more than 50 people. Even though we didn't help that much people, we still made a difference in the world and this is only the beginning. They thought our idea of paying it forward was a good idea because some people gave us the money but didn't take a bag of cookies because all they wanted to do was donate. We didn't ask the people to pay it forward but we said or did it in a different way. While we were selling cookies, we had a poster that we made and it told people to pay it forward. They also asked us why we were doing this and we explained that we were donating the money to the Children's Hospital to Pay it Forward. The people were pretty impressed that girls this age, can do something to make a difference.
Part 4
Pay it Forward is important because as one person (just you) can make a difference by changing peoples lives one by one and making them live life to the FULLEST! It is also important because as it multiplies more and more people get involved in making a difference in the world. It has definitely made a difference to others because we made children happy, made people believe that people our age can make a change in the world, and having to spend so much money to make a difference because it was worth it.

For my Pay It Forward Joey, Eli, Mikey, Ace, Adrian, Hendrix, and me did 4 things like donating clothes, food, rake Eli's back yard relatives place, and babysit his grandma's foster kids. The first thing we did was donate clothes to Value Village that we don't wear anymore and we also told the guy at Value Village to pay it forward. After we went Costco to donate food like baby food and pasta at the drop off bin. Later we went to Eli's grandma's house to babysit his grandma's foster kids for a while which was fun and after that we went to his relative's house to rake their backyard. After all that we went to Chicken Delight to kind of celebrate our accomplishments that we did that day.

Kim's Pay It Forward
Part 1
What is "Pay it Forward".
"Pay it forward" is a movie. The movie is about a student named Trevor. In the movie, Trevor has an assignment, where they all have to do is make a difference to someone and put into action. He came up with an idea! He explains to his classmates that he would help 3 people and those 3 people will help 3 other people instead of helping the 3 other people back. He called it :Pay It Forward. It's like this:
Part 2
Marielle Manlulu, Daphne Amelo and I clean/raked the neighbors yard and some part of the school yard. We chose this activity because we want to make our school yard clean and beautiful. We helped the people that clean our school and for the neighbors lawn part we helped the owner of the house to clean their yard. We raked the front yard of the neighbors lawn and back, side, parking lot of the school. We did our act of kindness on November 4, 2011 at around 11:30 to 3:30. (no school).
Part 3We accomplished our goal of cleaning the school yard! I never thought that it would be fun! In our heads, we think that we are making a difference even in a small way, rather than thinking: Oh no! it's a lot of work. Yes, it is a lot of work but it's worth it. It was actually funny when we were walking, because many people passing by us are starring and they might probably thinking: "Why do they have rakes?" . While walking along Wellington to Sargent Park School, because we brought our own rakes. When we practiced raking the neighbors lawn, it was fun. And when we got to school at 11:30, we raked right away because we don't want to waste any time. Since it's Teacher's Inservice in our school, many teachers and other people are walking to the sidewalk to go to the main entrance door or to walk their dog or something. Most of them will look at 3 of us for a while and sometimes they would even stop or without saying a word they would smile, then they would continue walking. We knew that they will know even without asking that were from Sargent Park School, because we decided to wear our jerseys. 2-3 people stopped and asked what are we doing, we explained them about our project in grade 8 and they thanked us and even told us that we are doing a very good job and they smiled at the 3 of us. We finished with 11 big black garbage bag full of leaves. We forgot to ask them to pay it forward because we are too exited about doing this cleaning the school yard and planning on how we're going to do it. But, if i would have a time machine ... I will go back in time where we were cleaning the yard and ask them to pay it forward.
Part 4
The idea of Pay it forward is important because when you pay it forward we spread it to all the people than paying it back and forth. Also, it gives you understanding that not only the people you know will help you back but they will help some other people that they know that need help. Our act of kindness made a difference in a small way and we are happy about it. We cleaned the school yard and we know that even no one see us cleaning it or even someone see us cleaning it ...someone will notice it. We are happy when they announced in the school that they are 3 people cleaned the yard and they thanked us for doing it. And those words might affect to the students that throws garbage in the school yard and we never know that maybe someday they will realize that they are doing something wrong. We are only three but we know we had made a difference! :))

Part 1
What is "Pay it Forward". To complete this part please edit and revise the paragraphs that you wrote after watching the movie. Pay it Forward is when one person does something to make a difference to an other person or more. Then, the other person that they helped will help other people and try to change there lives and it keeps expanding.
Part 2
First of all, I was doing this project with 3 other classmates, Paige, Liyanah, and Amy.
Here's the Video you have all been waiting for!

Ace's Pay it Forward
What is "Pay It Forward"?
I think that pay it forward is a routine that 1 person has started and it keeps on getting passed on from 1 person to another. Pay It Forward, is when YOU help someone out or do a good deed not because someone told you to, but because you want to. Then they Pay It Forward then it just keeps on growing.
What was your Pay It Forward act of kindness?
Since our group was quite large, we chose to do a few things. One of our acts of kindness was donating. We also helped out some of the people we know. We babysat foster children and lastly we raked a backyard for free.
Why did you choose this activity?
We chose theses activities because we wanted to help out people who are less fortunate than us and just to make people smile (: .
Who did you help?
When we donated, we probably helped out children and other families who are in need of help. We helped Elijah's grandma get some rest from taking care of the 4 foster children. Lastly we helped out eli's auntie and uncle.
What did you do?
Our group had donated canned goods, clothing, toys, and books to Winnipeg Harvest and Value Village. Another thing we did is that we babysat Elijah's grandma's foster children for about an hour. The kids that we took care of are named Rihanna, Breayon, Monique, and Sterling. The last thing we did was that we raked elijah's auntie and uncles backyard for free.
When did you do you act of kindness?
We did our act of kindness on Sunday, November 13 2011.
How did your act of kindness go?
Our act of kindness turned out to be great. We managed to put smiles upon peoples faces.
What Happened?
On Sunday, November 13 Eli, Joseph, Mikey, Adrian, Terence, Hendrix and I, decided to help out and pay it forward. The 7 of us gathered a bunch of clothes, food, and toys to donate. First, we tried Winnipeg Harvest, but it was closed. So we went to Value Village and we donated the clothing and toys. The man who was at the door to take in the donations was surprised and happy. We passed on the message to Pay It Forward and he agreed. After, we went to another Winnipeg Harvest to donate the canned goods that we gathered. After wards, we went to eli's grandma's house to baby sit her 4 foster children named, Rihanna, Breayon, Monique and Sterling. We read to them, watched television with them, and also play board games with them. Eli's grandma was very happy. Lastly, we went to another relative of eli's and we raked their backyard for them, it started snowing a lot so it was fun. They were also very happy and proud.
How did you feel?
I felt very proud of us because we passed on the pay it forward message and that we went out and spent our time helping others.
How did the person or people react?
They were really surprised and happy that us teenagers were doing these kinds of things to help others.
Did you ask the person or people to "Pay It Forward"?
Yes, we did ask 1 very young 'pogi' Filipino gentleman to pay it forward and he kindly agreed.
How did they react to your request?
To me, it seemed like he thought ''Sure why not?''

Has your act of kindness made a difference?
Yes, i do believe that our act of kindness had made a difference. Even though it may be a small deed, it still helps others. Just as simple as cleaning up the community with a couple of friends. If all of us participate and are committed, We CAN make a Difference.

Pay it Forward is a act that you do and the person you do it for, passes it on to someone else.

Here are the questions I am going to answer in my paragraph
1.Who are you going to help?
2.What are you are going to do
3.Where are you going to go?
4.When are you going to do this?
For my pay it Forward I actually did two things. I worked early in the mornings at a breakfast program and helped them serve children for a couple of days and I donated some clothes and books at West Central Woman's Resource Center. At the breakfast program I a going volunteer and helped them serve children that go to the school. I am doing this at 8:00 or earlier sometimes before school. At the West Central Woman's Resource Center I am going to donate clothes and children books. I am going to a breakfast program because I think they need help sometimes and while I help them they can make snacks and other things for the children later on. I am going to a local Woman's Resource Center. I am going to volunteer a few days a week so I get a few hours done. I am going to do this after school.
These pictures were at the Breakfast Program

After the Pay it Forward
I think my Pay it Forward went great. In the breakfast program I asked them to pay it forward they didn't get it but after some explaining they did and said they would try paying it forward. In the center I didn't ask them because they already help women who are in need so they are paying it forward. I felt great after doing this because it really made me happy seeing them happy. It felt that way because seeing that I have really done something great that would help them and seeing them smile and say thank-you it just made the work and waking up in the morning seem not that big of a deal.

Anita's Pay It Forward
"Pay It Forward" is doing a random act of kindness for at least someone who will in turn pass it on to other people.
For my Pay It Forward project, Melina, Sheila and I helped Sheila's mother babysit her cousins while she was sick. We babysat for the weekend and it was more fun than I thought it would be! I chose to do this project because Sheila told I were going to make plans, but then she said that her mom was sick and she couldn't go. That made me realize that not only was Sheila missing out on a fun day, but so was Sheila's mother! The three of us wanted to make her day a little easier, so we thought that we could babysit for one weekend.
Here is a picture of one year old Matthew:
Here's 2 year old Jayden:
And 4 year old Fiona:
Our act of kindness was very successful. We made some arts and crafts, played Catch inside the house, we even gave them a bath! Matthew, Fiona and Jayden are really fun kids to spend the weekend with, I didn't even mind that I had to wake up at 8 in the morning for the weekend! I felt very satisfied because we helped a Sheila's busy mother, and I had fun for 2 days without much cell phone or computer use. It helped me remember that technology isn't the only source of fun. Sheila's mom was overjoyed when she saw the kids smiling and laughing, and it felt great seeing that we made her gloomy day brighter! I did not ask Sheila's mother to "Pay It Forward" because she was in bed sick and she was tired. I do think she helps more than 3 people regularly, though. She makes Fiona, Matthew, and Jayden's parents lives more manageable when she babysits the children.
The idea of Pay it Forward is so important because when one person helps 3 people, and one of those 3 people helps another 3 people, the numbers really add up and make a giant difference. The thought of helping someone without asking for anything in return is also really nice.
My act of kindness has made a difference to Sheila's, and all of the other children's parents, simply by Melina, Sheila and I looking after 3 very energetic kids! It was a very fun weekend, and I hope we can all do it again some other time!
