5.Ravi purchased 3 dvds for 19.99 each
Find the totl cost for thr DVDs including 5% GST 6% PST
19.99 x 3 = $59.97 0.11 x 59.97 = $6.60 + 59.97=$66.60

10.what is the total cost for 4 tires that sell for $85 each, plus 5% GST and 1.5% envoirnmental tax?
4 x 85 = $340 0.5 x 340 = $170 o.15 x 340 = $51 340+170+51= 561

Hannah's Pay it Forward

1) What was Our Pay It Forward act of kindness?
Our active kindness were picking up garbage around the neighborhood, donating clothes that we don't wear and don't fit us any more to Value Village, shoveling Masynne's and Dorian's front yard and steps.

2) Why did you choose this active kindness?
we chose picking up garbage around our community because it is important to keep the enviornment clean we chose donating clothes because we had clothes that we don't need any more and don't fit so 'why not donate them' and we shovelled Masynne's walkway and steps because we didn't think that we did enough, so we did more.

3) Who did you help?
We helped Masynne's parents and animals and people in our community.

4) When did you do your act of kindness?
we picked up garbage on November 12 we donated to Value Village on November 13 and we shovelled on  November 19.

5) How did your act of kindness go?
the garbage cleaning was messy but it was worth it to see the community cleaner.Donating clothes was easy and is something we do every once in a while. Shoveling was fun but a little cold.

7) How did you feel?
it felt good to give back to the community make it nice and clean and a better place.

8) How did the person or people react?
Masynnes parents were pleased , some people that saw us cleaning up garbage said "good job"

9) Did you ask the person or people to "Pay It Forward"?
No, we didn't really talk to that many people and didn't really get a chance to explain why we were doing this and what Pay it Forward was.

10) Why is the idea of "Pay it Forward" important?
The idea of Pay it Forward is important so that we can make the world a better place, and be the change that you want to see.

11) Has your act of kindness made a difference?
Yeah, our active kindess did make little difference because the neighborhood is a little cleaner now and Masynne's parents don't have to worry about slipping.

Masynne and I cleaning up garbage. (Kenzie is taking the picture)

Garbage picking was GROSS, (as you can see)
But it was good to see the neighborhood all
cleaned up.

A clean enviornment means a lot to even the little
members of our community :)

Value Village :D

Sydney and I shoveling :P

Graphing Post

1. Use your notes to list the different types of graphs. Please list the advantages and disadvantages of each graph.

A Pictograph uses pictures to represent a quantity of data values in order to decrease the size of the graph. A key must be used to explain the pictures.
Advantages: Easy to read, Visually appealing ,Handles large data sets easily using keyed Pictures
Disadvantages: Hard to quantify partial pictures Icons must be of consistent size Best for only 2-6 categories Very simplistic

A Line graph displays data as a percentage of the whole. Each pie section should have a label and percentage. A total data number should be included.
Advantages: Visually appealing Shows percent of total for each category
Disadvantages: No exact numerical data Hard to compare 2 data sets "Other" category can be a problem Total unknown unless specified Best for 3 to 7 categories Use only with discrete data

A bar graph displays discrete data in separate columns. A double bar graph can be used to compare two data sets. Categories are considered unordered and can be rearranged alphabetically, by size, etc.
Advantages: Visually strong Can easily compare two or three data sets
Disadvantages: Graph categories Use only with discrete data can be reordered to emphasize certain effects

A Double bar graph are best for showing two sets of data across catorgies.
Advantages:double bar graph gives two or more pieces of information one graph
Disadvantges:. However, if a group vertical bar graph has too many series of data, the graph becomes cluttered and it can be confusing to read.

A Circle Graph displays data as a percentage of the whole. Each pie section should have a label and percentage. A total data number should be included.
Advantages:Visually appealing Shows percent of total for each category
Disadvantages:No exact numerical data Hard to compare 2 data sets "Other" category can be a problem Total unknown unless specified Best for 3 to 7 categories Use only with discrete data

How Graphs Can be Misleading?(three ways)

A pictograph can be misleading when it is not drawn carefully and accuratley

A bar graph can be misleading when there is a break in the y-axis which means that one of the intervols is worth more than the others making then un even.

A bar graph can be misleading when one of the bars is colored differently.

2. aThe following chart shows Pizza Sub Sales over a month. What 2 graphs would show the information accurately?
bar graph & line graph.

2.b f you were selling Pizza Subs would you continue? How does your graph explain your answer.

A line graph would show that every week the sales get better. Of course I continue to keep selling pizza subs.

4.Below you see 2 different examples of graphs showing healthy choices sold at the canteen. If you had to convince Mrs Mota that we should continue selling healthy choices which graph would you choose?
Pictograph and Line Graph.

4a.Change each graph so that your information looks even MORE impressive. You may not change the data just the graphs.

a ratio is a relationship between two numbers of the same kind
A value describing one quantity in terms of another quantity.
A proportion is an equation with a ratio on each side.
